Nationwide Race: Carquest Auto Parts 300 at Lowes Motor Speedway
Discount Tire Team #6 |

"I am excited to be racing under the lights at Charlotte. I would love to put on
a show for all of my family and friends in attendance," said driver David Ragan.
"The Discount Tire team will be well prepared for Saturday night. We had a great
test here a few weeks back and we are confident our Ford Fusion can compete with
any car on the track. We came close to a win here last fall, so I am confident we
can duplicate that performance and put a lot of pressure on the other competitors.
I think it's only a matter of time before we get that first win under our belts." |

"We had a slight set back at Darlington, but we are ready to rebound from that this
weekend in Charlotte. David has a lot of experience on this tough track. We got a
nice top-10 finish here last fall, so I feel we can run up front on Saturday night,"
commented crew chief Mike Kelley. "I think this track sets up nicely for David's
aggressive driving style. We were among the fastest during testing here a few weeks
ago. The Discount Tire team will be prepared for the challenge that lies ahead. If
we take care of business during each practice session and qualify towards the front,
we should have a great run." |

Sprint Cup Race: Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway
Discount Tire is an associate sponsor of Cup car drivers David Ragan, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle:
David Ragan
"We knew that it was going to be difficult and challenging and that's why Humpy will
have 150,000 people here watching because it's going to be a lot of fun for 600 miles.
But, certainly, we'll probably be a little more cautious at the beginning. It's the
same old story starting during the day and ending at night. We'll have to adjust our
cars throughout the evening, and then as a driver I just have to pace myself and really
not wear myself out mentally, or physically in the first 300 or 400 miles, and just be
around at the end. I think these cars on the mile and a half tracks have been tough to
drive, but that's something that will get better in the future."
Carl Edwards
"I'm really looking forward to this weekend. We learned some things in the All-Star race
and I think once we get the Office Depot Ford dialed in we'll be really good. Sunday's
race is a long one, and I think that will be good for me. I think as the night goes on
people will get tired and make mistakes and hopefully I'll be able to take advantage of that."
Greg Biffle
"We're taking the car that we ran really well with at Texas before we had some mechanical
problems. I think that our run in the All-Star race was a confidence booster especially
heading into the Coke 600 this weekend. It is the longest race of the season so that
makes for a completely different kind of race. We'll start in the day and finish at night
and a race that long is obviously harder on equipment, so you have to be prepared for that.
It would be incredible to win the Coca-Cola 600 though. I think this race is probably in my
top five of races I'd like to win." |
