"Our Discount Tire team must have a good weekend. We struggled a little bit in
Nashville with our Ford Fusion, but I am sure we can right the ship in Texas,
"Driver David Ragan said. We sat on the pole here last spring and came close
to winning the race. I am sure we can duplicate that performance if we qualify
where we should and stay in the front of the pack. I know our guys are hungry
for that first win, but we have to make sure we don't start pressing the issue.
The great finishes will come as long as we continue to execute our game plans
from week to week." |

"I am ready to get back on top of that pit box," said Crew Chief Mike Kelley. We
had a weekend off to recover from a rough race at Nashville. I am confident we
have the strategy to do very well at Texas. We should have won here last fall,
so we have some unfinished business to take care of. The key to running well at
Texas is having good balance on your racecar. I know anything can happen on the
track but I truly believe we are the team to beat this weekend." |

Sprint Cup Race: Samsung 500
Discount Tire is an associate sponsor of Cup car drivers David Ragan, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle:
David Ragan
"Texas is a fast track, you definitely have to be on top of your game there and last year we weren't
where we needed to be. We definitely didn't have the runs we needed last year, but this year our mile
and a half program has gotten so much better. We've had strong runs at Vegas and California which are
the same distance so hopefully we can go out there and contend for another top-10 run, maybe even a
top five."
Carl Edwards
"I've had a lot of success at Texas throughout my career and I am hoping to continue that this weekend.
All the guys on this No. 99 team have been working really hard all year, and I am confident that our
team will be competitive this weekend."
Greg Biffle
"Texas is one of my favorite tracks and it's usually a pretty good race for us. We've had some bad luck
there but we also walked away with a set of cowboy hats one time. I'd love to get a set for this new team.
They've worked really hard all year and I am completely confident that even when we have a minor setback,
they learn from it and get ready for the next weekend. We're taking a brand new car this weekend but the
way these cars are built so similar, I think we'll be alright." |
