Discount Tire Team #6 looking for a win at David Ragan's home track.
Consistency has placed David Ragan and team #6 among the top 5 in NNS
standings. In the first three weeks of the season they notched two
top-10 and one top-15 finish, putting them in fifth place just a few
points behind teammate Carl Edwards. When asked about this week's race
Ragan said, "I feel like we have good momentum going into Atlanta. We
came together as a team last week [in Las Vegas] and pulled out a hard
fought top-10. |

"Atlanta is a fast track that can be hard on tires," Ragan added. "If
we come up with a good strategy to protect against tire wear we will
be okay. Our Discount Tire Ford Fusion will be very fast. It is the
same car we won the pole with at Homestead last year. I am excited
about returning to my home state, and a win would be awesome." |

Crew chief Mike Kelley commented, "The Atlanta track can eat you up
quick. Good balance on a racecar is the key to optimum performance.
I feel like we are going into a great situation this weekend. David
will have a little extra motivation because this is his home track.
Everybody on the Discount Tire team will do everything they can to
get him into victory lane. Our mile and a half program is very stout
and the Ford Fusion we are bringing is fast. We hope all of these
factors add up to a win." |
