Discount Tire Team #6 revved - up for warm weather and fast racing.
When asked about the weekend ahead, driver David Ragan commented,
"It was a wild race last year with the new pavement. We just
focused on finishing the race." |

|
|
David was referring to the "refinements" made to Las Vegas Motor
Speedway made in 2007, featuring a smooth, new racing surface
and higher 20-degree banked turns. It made the 1.5 mile super
speed way a whole lot faster. "This year we are bringing a very
fast race car. We had a solid test session here earlier in the
month and I am very confident the Discount Tire team will be in
the front of the pack by the end of the race. This weekend will
be a challenge for us, but we are going to take it one race at
a time." |

During the rain delay at Fontana David added "I can't wait to get out
of rain. I want some warm weather [in Las Vegas] and a win. That's a
perfect combination for me." |

|
|
Crew Chief Mike Kelley shared some insights, "we improved a great deal
since last season, with changes in our pit crew and it's made a world
of a difference. I am looking forward to Las Vegas this time around.
We called a cautious race last year due to track conditions and the
nature of the race. But we tested well here last month and I think we
have a great game plan going into this weekend. David knows the key to
Las Vegas is patience. He has good equipment and he knows how to get
over the bumps. I expect us to come away with a good finish this weekend." |
